Between The Lines
So I went to the vigil, after all my comments. I didn't go because I love Muslims. I didn't go because I want waves of refugees. I went to show support for the victims. I went becauae they are people. I went to stand against the violence against people of faith. I went, surrounded by liberals I'm sure, to condemn the tragedy. |

For Peace
ALMIGHTY God, from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed: Kindle, we pray thee, in the hearts of all men the true love of peace, and guide with thy pure and peaceable wisdom those who take counsel for the nations of the earth; that in tranquillity thy kingdom may go forward, till the earth is filled with the knowledge of thy love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Mosque Shooting
I condemn the mosque shooting. This act of terrible violence against peaceful worshipers is deplorable. This serves no purpose, and this misguided attack against the people of a faith--because of their faith--is evil and will not solve any problems, real or perceived. It is a coward's act to shoot unarmed peaceful people, at prayer or otherwise. It is especially wicked to me that they were killed in a holy place simply because they were in a holy place. Pray for peace. Pray for the families of the victims. Pray for love and an end to hate. Pray for peace here. Pray for understanding and tolerance. Pray for those who feel the attack was deserved; because, until they change their minds, the threat to peace is always there. I want to say more, but words fail me.

Instruction Manual
Fr. Daniel's homily today spoke of The Sermon on the Mount not being a manual. I'm guilty of treating it as such myself, and have often thought of it as such. If you want to see God, be pure of heart. If you want to inherit the Earth, be meek. This stuck in my head today. What does it mean?

Why does He do it?
Atheists often ask the questions why does God choose people to do His work and why would God choose a backwards people in a remote part of the world? Aside from me being able to see the Roman empire being a tool, falling after it had served God's purpose, today's reading from St. Paul's letter to the Corinthians may shed some light on the subject. God uses the weak to shame the strong and chooses the foolish to shame the wise. So, there is reason for the choices of who, where, and when, even if you don't agree with or understand them.

Demons Again
Two (or three) nights ago I had another nightmare (much less frequent these days). It was about possession again. I don't remember a whole lot now except that my aunt was possessed and bit me. I woke up screaming and woke Cindy up too. I was able to stay still and silent long enough for Cindy to quickly begin to snore again peacefully. I'm not too sure what this means exactly.
On another note, I learned some weeks ago that Fr. Gabriele Amorth passed away sometime in September of 2016. I haven't read all his books yet, but I enjoy them. I was surprised by An Exorcist Tells His Story. It wasn't what I was expecting, but I enjoyed it and it was insightful.

P1$$ W@lkers
A pet peeve of mine is when people park right beside me in an empty parking lot. I want to park the Jeep--a new vehicle--away from other vehicles to avoid dings and dents from doors and shopping carts. Yet, people will pull right up beside it; it's like going into a public washroom and there are 25 empty urinals, yet some stupid dumbass will walk right up to the one beside you. What is this need to be in somebody's space. Move over!

Beep Beep Boop
I recently became aware that a team member who used to work with me beeped because he felt like he was being treated like a robot. This is symptomatic of greedy entitled Western society leftists. The very fact that companies like mine create jobs--by design I might add--rather than go to full automation is proof that they value the person, providing work and income. So, beep beep boop.

Roger Cancer
I do not believe that climate change, aka global warming, is man caused. Just because I flip up two graphs on a slide does not mean that there is a relationship. Warming is natural and is a circular pattern. I do not believe that man's actions are a significant contribution to warming. If we were to see that 60% of Rogers customers eventually die from cancer vs only 40% of Bell customers, can we assume that it is highly more dangerous to be a Rogers customer? Does that make sense?
To Prayer or Not to Prayer
I don't often tell people that I'm praying for somebody. It's not that I don't believe in the power of prayer. I do. There's a fear on my part that because my faith is weak, the person will become discouraged when the prayer fails. |

Wrong Plane
Some people just don't understand the difference between right and wrong, like when the PM took a private plane to a lobbyist's private island; what is wrong about getting on to a plane? Planes aren't bad. He claimed that he didn't see anything wrong with taking the trip. This is why we need to have objective ethical standards; because, there are people out there who can't tell what is wrong. He can't see the conflict of interest. There is a reason that a member of parliament can't accept gifts. There is a reason it's not ethical. Even if there is no expectation to reciprocate, even if their judgement is not affected, there must be no appearance of it being possible and no question of it being able to happen. Caesar's wife must not simply be above reproach. Caesar's wife must appear to be above reproach.

I abstained from voting on the Versry resolution supporting the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People. I have yet to read this declaration in full.
The reason that I didn't vote on the resolution to support the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous people is that there wasn't enough information available. Anyway, it passed with almost unanimous support. Not only was the resolution not included in the Vestry agenda and sprung on us, it refered to another document that nobody had read and that wasn't attached. The resolution called for, in part, the parish to actively lobby the municipal government to supoort the UN resolution. My fear is that this UN declaration will further alienate, segregate, and marginalize indigenous people. I belive that reserves are the worst thing for indigenous people. They are prisons. And, we can't plow under the cities of North America and send the White and Black people back to Europe and Africa respectively. Reserves also promote socialism and economic stagnation. The people of reserves, like the people of any welfare state, tend to advocate for more welfare. I'm all for local control and the decentralization of power, but indigenous people need to be part of our society, fully integrated--not assimilated--into a mosaic society in which they participate as equals, not equals with privileges. So, we passed a resolution that we didn't understand. Just like people of years past, who implemented the residential schools, we have made a decision regarding indigenous people because we know what's best for them. |
Good Person

Now I'm dreaming!
I had some really wild dreams last night and I also slept like crap. I had a very sore back, probably from starting the Zen 200 Pushup Challenge. So, my dreams were these: In the first dream, a friend and I were working downtown and I wanted to show them St. Paul's. I opened a door to a room and our last Rector was having a women only meeting; in the second dream, there was a zombie apocalypse. We left the house. I took all the rifles and tried to put all the ammo in my front left pocket. I found a house for us to spend the night barricaded inside. In the morning a group of loud drunk idiots showed up, attracting zombies and we were on the run again. I only fired one cartridge in the whole dream, killing a zombie with the .30-30; the third and final dream I can't remember now. |

What was going on in the story of the woman with great faith?
The story of the woman with great faith from the Gospel of Matthew in chapter 15 is deep. It has me wondering so many things. Was Jesus really not going to help her? Was He really only sent to the children of Israel? Was He just feinting that He wasn't going to help? Was this a test for the disciples rather than His actual plan? Is healing dependent on one's own faith? Can faith make you well? Did her faith trigger Jesus to make her well?

Reading the fist chapter of Habakkuk today, who doesn't see America here? An eagle that swoops down, come on, you don't? Okay.

I think I'm asleep right now. Have you ever practiced lucid dreaming or dream control? I'm at Walmart in Brantford and I keep seeing my dream sigil/totem all over the store. How would you know if you were awake?

High School Hat Rule
This is nothing more than a power struggle; the reclassification of a rifle because of a phrase etched on it is the equivalent of the enforcement of the hat rule when I was in high school. Nobody could ever give us a good reason. It was always, "just don't do it". It was a struggle to maintain control, a lashing out in frustration and anger.

Loss
I was dreaming about Lucy last night. I've been thinking, and not to sound incredibly self centered, but I'm not looking forward to dying because of the pain it will cause to others. It's a shitty inevitability of life.
Rural Cauc Asians
If the idea backing hiring quotas is that the police force in Toronto should hire minorities until they reflect the demographics of the city, why doesn't the OPP policing rural communities only hire Caucasians?

Minds Do Not Understand
In reading the 13th chapter of the Gospel of Matthew, the minds do not understand phrase caught my attention. So many times, I have been told by evangelicals that you can't come to know God through your intellect. It may read differently in other translations, but in the Good News Bible is is mind that is used, and this is interesting to me--something to ponder.
I [not me myself but a common belief amoung many] don't need God.
Just like in the 13th chapter of the Book of Hosea, we tend to forget God when we have all that we want. This is so evident in the West.
Many monks believe that if you do someting good, you must do it without complaining. I think it may be in St. Benedict's Rule.

Do all things without murmuring and arguing, so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine like stars in the world. Crush Religion!
I saw a story on Facebook about upcoming Imagine no Religion confrenses. This is not tolarance. For all the problems religion has "caused", the religious are not fighting for imagine no atheists; they are fighting to practice their religion in society while the Atheists are fighting to stop that.

Now that Cindy has received a taste of what I experienced at Church, I think we are ready to finally leave St. Paul's. I never understood why God brought me there in the first place; to be fair, I loved the structure and liturgy at first. But, that was then. What is my role now? Am I supposed to play Cindy's role, keeping me at St. Paul's when I was like a bathed cat trying to get out of the tub? Because, I would have been gee oh an eea. Am I supposed to lead us away from the parish at long last? To St. Stephen's, or St. Barnabas, Jubilee, where do we go? Although, St. Stephen's might just be more of the same. I've had a stomach full of the ACC. FATHER guide me and give me direction; let Your will be done. I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Right to Bear Arms
I had a dream last night that a bear cub walked up to the house, although it felt more like the house on Ontario St. than the house we live in now. We were playing with and petting the cub. I knew the mother wouldn't be far. I saw her running toward the house and she attacked us. I shot her in the head with the .30-30 and then I woke up.
Feelings of Death
I have, and have had, feelings of death/dying when falling asleep/waking up. It is disturbing, and I'm not sure when it started. I've been reading on the internet, and the general consensus is that it is associated with anxiety. It's not nightmares, which I have had too; it is a sensation upon waking or while trying to fall asleep. It is troubling.

The Still Small Voice
Today's Bible readings for Morning Prayer coupled with a blurb in the Anglican Journal regarding tithing were saying something. They are saying something to me. I need to re-read and reflect more. They seem to be saying that God doesn't want sacrifices and offerings, but wants thanksgiving and mercy & kindness.
