As I Dress

This poem came to me as I lay in bed:

You won't overpower and stop me,
Because I am older than you.
You won't overpower and stop me,
Because you respect me.
You won't overpower and stop me,
Because you love me.
You won't overpower and stop me,
Because I trust you.
You won't even overpower and stop me,
Even though I did when care was reversed.
You won't overpower and stop me,
Even though I had to when you were a child.
You won't overpower and stop me,
Because I dress your father unable to do so himself.
You won't overpower and stop me,
Even though nobody has to do that any longer.
You won't overpower and stop me,
Because you look so sad.
