Sheep's Clothing

It's strange that the liberals are so anti Classic Liberalism.  I had a conversation a week ago yesterday with a man who was CPC.  He was all law and order, but also pro-choice; I think he was really a Liberal in sheep's clothing.  This was in a policy meeting.  He was siding with the Liberals on everything, from the Truck Convoy to abortion, from tax breaks to native fishing rights.

Now, I'm a Blue Tory, and I have no real issues with the Red Tories.  I used to be one.  But, this guy is a Pink Tory, in every way a liberal.  I am wary of policy granting police more powers.

At what point did the Liberals trade in the thinking of Voltaire and Jefferson for the jackboots of totalitarianism?

Pew

I had a strange dream a few days ago; I was in Church, with bad gas.  I was farting on the pew, and couldn't stop.  It was just a little too loud, and kept going.  I'm not sure what that means.

I don't want to be weighed against a feather.

Reading the second chapter of Ephesians tonight, it seems hard to hold the Catholic belief that we are saved through words.  The much criticized Protestant Sola Fida seems to have merit here.

The Rooster Crowing Does Not Cause The Sun To Rise

Sunday's sermon bothered me.  It seemed to lack critical thought on the issue of forest fires.  There was an implied premise, or maybe even a belief that the conclusion was known to be true, therefore proving the premise true.

Ask yourself:  Is it possible that forest fires are more destructive because we are putting them out, thereby creating more dry deadwood fuel for the next fire?  True, mankind may be causing the fires to be worse, buy why?

Guilty until proven innocent is just the beginning

There was one episode of Star Trek Voyager that troubled me.  There was a line where a future Temporal Agency agent arrested a Captain for crimes that he would commit.  It reminded me of the movie The Minority Report, in that the innocent could be punished.  And, that is troubling; in a society that is based on the right to be assumed innocent until proven guilty and to be judged by a jury of one's peers, this concept is a horrifying abuse of justice.

50th

The appointed psalm--if I have it right--on Sunday was psalm 50.  And I thought, that's the reason that God came to the Jews; the sacrifice came from their own people to seal the covenant.

Bam!

My wife gave me one of the greatest compliments that a woman can give a man a few days ago.  She said, "you don't need a big truck."

🔽

The NDD has been attacking me relentlessly for the past few weeks.  I'm not as fast anymore, not as strong, not as sharp.  My best years behind me, what can I accomplish?  Am I becoming the stupid old man?  Will I advance at work again?  Have I become redundant?  Am I valuable?

But, you know, life is worth living.  I had a wonderful weekend with my daughter in Indianapolis.  I make good money.  I have a home, a nice vehicle, good health for 50.  I am blessed by God.
